DirectOut - add on interfaces

Some products from RME, such as the ADI8-QS, the Micstasy and the DMC-842, provide an option slot called i64 slot, extending the variety of interfaces available in the device.

The D.O.TEC i64.Series adds three new audio formats and a completely redesigned MADI module using the i64 technology. The i64 format was designed by DirectOut developer Stephan Flock, thus all modules are fully compatible with the RME devices on the market.

The new i64.MADI module supports a special matrix mode in the ADI8-QS (requires Firmware 3.0), providing access to all analog and digital I/Os of the device via MADI at the same time.

The i64 slots are accessible from the outside of the devices. So the modules can easily be exchanged on location even during a production process (e.g. recording via MADI, mixing via USB).

Installed in the option slot of RME devices like Micstasy, ADI-8 QS and DMC-842 the module offers a redundant MADI port for these devices. Inside the ADI8-QS (requires Firmware 3.0) the option card activates the all new 'Matrix Mode', providing flexible audio routing of all inputs among each other (analog, AES, ADAT and MADI).
